All dressed up and no where to go!

Yesterday was a fun day making a casserole carrying case. I really liked how it turned out, and to be honest... I followed someone else's blog, but then winged a lot of it.   I got confused along the way, or it wasn't working the way the instructions said it would, so I just eyeballed it as I went.  Perfect, no... Pretty, yes.  It even has a cute little holder for a spoon.  Now all I need is to take food somewhere... and I guess that means I have to make food...

Things I learned on this project:

At Hobby Lobby, 1 yard of insul-bright is half the amount as 1 yard from Jo-Ann's.  I needed 1 yard, the "yard" from hobby lobby wasn't enough, so the next time I was at Jo-Ann's, I picked up another "yard,"  and now I will have enough insul-bright to keep me warm all winter, and summer, and probably the next winter.  What can you do?

Taking your husband to the craft store when you know what project you want to do, but have no idea what style of fabric you want to use, can actually be useful.  Don't tell, but Bryan picked out this fabric.  I think I am going to like having him around ;)  Bryan actually loves the fact that I am learning how to sew, he has been very supportive which only makes me want to get better at this.

When you are tired and ready for bed, don't keep sewing!  I was trying to force the last few things on the project and they wouldn't work for the life of me.  I had been trying to finish every project in one day so that they wouldn't carry over to the next and my life get even more chaotic.  I don't want to be the kind of person that starts something, and then 3 months later is like "oh, wow, I forgot about that.  It could be so cute if I just...."  I need order in my life.  My house needs order.  However, that being said, when you have been working on a project and it isn't going the way it should, I am just going to work on it later.  It is not worth breaking something, or completely ruining the project because of my pride.  My husband was ready for me to come to bed anyway. :)

So now all I need is to need to take food somewhere.  I guess it is a good thing I'm baptist, we eat all the time :)  If you have any casserole recipes you'd like to share, I'd love to have them!

  2. I love the fabric, too! Yay, Bryan! AND if you can get your projects done in one day, wow! I have so many projects that I started, ahem, years ago! :)
