Desk

We came across this desk about a year ago and my sister-in-law encouraged us to re-do it.  Originally I didn't have a plan for the desk and was thinking we would sell it.  But as life has progressed it proved to become the perfect addition to our house as we prepare for the addition to our family. :)

This desk was the perfect definition of "mid century modern' design.  It had several scratches around so it clearly needed to be re-done, but the original color was really nice.  It also had a nice large glass top.  As I started to thinking about what I wanted to do, I started pulling designs from different pinterest ideas which included painting the bottom and re-staining the top.

The first step was sanding the top in the summer heat during nap time! This took a good bit more effort that I originally thought... no wonder I love chalk paint!  And thank goodness it was just the top!

For the drawers, I picked this beautiful blue.

And the desk got an white overhaul.

After this step we took a trip to the garage where I stained the top and forgot to take pictures.  That might be because this was the EASIEST thing I have ever done!  I might be a new fan of staining beautiful pieces.

In trying to honor the Mid-Century Modern design, I decided I would add gold to the bottom of the legs to make them pop and then I wanted the handles to have the same gold to match.  I "should' have done this first... so then I had to get creative with the spray paint.

The final product turned out amazing!  I am so excited with how beautiful this turned out to be.

This was the beginning to an entire craft room overhaul!  What a beautiful place to start creating beautiful things!

In preparation for Annalee coming, the room overhaul has proven to be effective!

Chalk Paint!

I have bought into this crazy thing called "Chalk Paint."  I want to paint everything!  Here are two chairs that I painted for my sister in law.  I have 2 more just like them waiting to be painted and sold on my facebook page.  If you want to jump the gun and call dibs... get them fast!

The turquoise piece in the center is still for sale.  Asking $80.

Look at the details on these chairs.

The arms and legs are absolutely gorgeous!

The texture of the fabric stands out and makes the chairs even more ornate.

I hope Jessica loves them as much as I do!

Bryan researched and found information about chalkboard paint.  He couldn't pass up the idea of putting our nursery chairs and making it a play table for someone.  I just loved how the table turned out.  We just posted it online yesterday and have already sold it.

I mean... who doesn't need a chalkboard table?  Look at that preciousness!

Nursery Chairs

Do we have a chair for you!  Every child needs their own chair.  :)  As part of our fundraising for the Bolivia mission trip this fall, Bryan and I are painting nursery chairs.  These chairs will go great in a nursery or play room.  What grandparent doesn't need one for when their grandchildren come to visit?  The possibilities are endless!

We have 4 different size wooden chairs that can be customized to your child's personality.  From the ground to the seat, we have 10", 12", 14" and 16" chairs.

Options are as followed:
-$25 chair in Gold, White, Gray, Coral, or Turquoise (turquoise color not shown)
-additional $10 to add your child's name in vinyl on the back of the chair (see coral chair for example)
-additional $15 to add a multi-colored name in vinyl to to seat of the chair (see gray for example)

**Vinyl color options discussed when ordering.

And a beautiful model to show the different sizes of chairs:   :)
