Chicken Noodle Soup

Poor Abigail has been under the weather for almost a week and today Bryan came home sick from work. I decided to take matters into my own hands and make some home made Chicken Noodle Soup.

If I'm being honest, this is probably the first time I've cooked since we got pregnant. (I'm a terrible pregnant lady!) I googled the ingredients after church and stopped to grab what we needed (which was all of it... cause again, I'm bad at pregnancy!)

This went into the pot first:
1 chopped celery
1 chopped onion
1 pre-shredded bag of carrots
1 splash of olive oil and Tony's

I started to sauté these while shredding the rotisserie chicken

Once finished, I dumped the chicken in the pot along with:
2 boxes of chicken broth
1 box vegatable broth
1 box worth of water
1 pack of ranch seasoning
1 pack of egg noodles
Salt, pepper, garlic powder, basil and Tony's to taste

After that, I brought it to a boil and then turned it down to a simmer.

It was a hit, and we now have soup for days! Maybe the weather will now cooperate... who knows?

Spring 2016 projects

So I realize that it is fall now... but I haven't done well with updating the blog because of... well life.  So here are finished projects from along the way.

This was for a friend who was working on a t-shirt quilt as a gift.

My beautiful princess was the flower girl for my best friends wedding.  While her dress was beautiful, I would have done MANY things differently for it.

Then, right before spring break... I started the BUNNIES!  This was round 2 of bunnies, but they were not all for me... don't worry.  My friend Kacee jumped on this band wagon too. I did however make a BUNCH of bunnies!

This is a piece that we are really proud of.  It took a long time for us to finish, but we replaced the top, and then painted it this fun color for a customer.

This pretty much wraps up the spring as far as crafting goes.  It was a busy spring!

But I guess the most important project I did was making this for my mom for Mother's Day:

We found out in April that we are expecting Baby Salsa in January 2017! Chips (Abigail) is very excited!

Nursery reveal

It only took me 25 months to create a nursery... But we FINALLY put the finishing touches on it. :)  Maybe one day I'll finally get around to posting a reveal of our master bedroom.  That post was started years ago...

Abigail is only 16 months old. Here is the final reveal of the nursery (I realize this is old news) :)

Bryan's Mema made the curtains for us a while ago and we just go around to finally hanging them. I am so please with how they look!

The flower is from her Great-Pawpaw.

The growth chart of the wall was made by her Pawpaw.  I am proud that we already have year 1 on there... here's to 17 more!

I love the blanket I made for Abigail early on.  I'm not sure why it's my favorite... it just is.

I am very proud of myself.  I made the bedding for the crib: the sheets, the crib skirt (not shown, trust me, it was cute), the padding for the top, the changing pad and her diaper stacker.

I am amazed by how many people love and care for Abigail.  These past 16 months have been like no other I have ever experienced.  Thank you for loving her and my family.  I can't wait to see what God has in store for us next!
